THIS EDGE CONTROL IS WAY BETTER THAN GORILLA GLUE
This is definitely not how Tessica Brown wanted to go viral!
Many people have asked, how does it even cross your mind to use Gorilla Glue in your hair? It seems like an obvious no-no… especially for anyone who’s actually used the stuff the right way before (which Tessica admits she had).
Seriously, it’s a sad situation and we hope Ms. Brown doesn’t suffer any permanent scalp damage.
But when you think about it, this entire fiasco proves two things.
Number 1, we will go to great lengths to get our look just right.
When those edges are actin’ up… giiirrl! You may be tempted to resort to desperate measures. Haven’t we all had days like that?
We shared the image below in the Naturalicious Nation Facebook group
It’s a funny post that’s gotten a lot of reactions. It also highlights the idea that we ain’t got time to play when it comes to getting our edges right.
The second thing the Gorilla Glue ordeal illustrates is how important it is to have the right products to achieve the look you’re going for.
Obviously, Gorilla Glue is BAD for your hair. Toxic, even.
But so are a lot of the other hair products out there. It’s particularly bad for Black women. A study found that 78% of hair products marketed to Black women contain harmful ingredients.
You may remember how our founder Gwen decided to go natural and ultimately start Naturalicious after watching Chris Rock’s documentary, Good Hair.
That documentary showed us that some of the products we’ve been putting in our hair for years can literally dissolve an aluminum can!
Several ingredients (including parabens, phthalates and sodium hydroxide) in Black-targeted hair care products have been linked to:
- allergies
- skin irritation
- weight gain
- hormonal imbalances
- immune system damage
- reproductive health effects
- and even cancer!
So are products like these any better than Gorilla Glue?
They may be even worse!
After learning about all these nasty chemicals we’re exposing our bodies through our scalp, we should avoid such products.
Thankfully, Naturalicious products are natural (of course) and actually nourishing to your hair.
When you need to get your crown to act right – especially those edges – our Dramatic Definition Gel is the way to go.
Dramatic Definition Gel uses nutrient-rich quinoa and chia seed oil to create a soft, touchable, yet firm, hold. The plant-based proteins strengthen your hair with every use, while aloe and coconut oil moisturize every strand from the inside out. It’s like a super food for your hair!
You’ll get beautifully defined curls and major shine, without the flaking, hardness, or crunch you get from other gels.
And again, all the ingredients in Dramatic Definition Gel are natural and healthy for your hair – and your whole body. You can treat your body like the temple it is AND look amazing at the same time.
A queen like you shouldn’t settle for anything less!
P.S. Now remember…
The Gorilla Glue situation went down because a sister wanted to step out looking fly, but she couldn’t find any hair gel in the house. Didn’t turn out well for her.
There’s a way to make sure you never run out of Dramatic Definition Gel (or any other Naturalicious product).
