The great news is it doesn’t have to! Here are some hacks that the team at Naturalicious have found to be super bomb at time-saving so we can live our best lives.

Plan your hairstyles for the week
Learn the habits of your hair. You know how long your wash n’ go or twist-out will last, so you can plan which day you will have to style it. For example, If your wash n’ go is looking frizzy and undefined by day 3, on day 4 you know you can braid it or throw it in a bun. Get creative with it. Look up new styles on Pinterest or jazz up a classic bun with metallic charms.
This is like that, but for you hair. It’s a quick way to get those curls poppin’ like day one again. Wet your hair to get it damp, and then spray the hair mist to add in moisture. Avoid adding any other products because the water is reactivating the products used on day one. Style as usual and go.
Saving time on wash day means nothing if you’re spending an hour or more on styling it. The key to keeping your hair routine quick and easy on a daily basis and extending the life of your styles is how you prep your hair before bed.
Every night, after wash day, (starting on day 2 and beyond) apply Step 2 Styling Creme onto your hair using Gwen’s OPEN-PALM METHOD -- spread Step 2 onto your palms by rubbing them together. Then, keeping your hands open, swipe your hands in a back and forth motion lightly on to the ends of your hair, making sure never to tug or pull on your hair with your fingers.
Once you have applied Step 2 to your roots and ends, as well as on any dry patches, gather your hair into a high bun on top of your hair and tuck the hair so that the ends stick out a little. Believe it or not, this actually helps to keep the curls in place, while also stretching the roots so you’ll have more volume the next day. Then, wrap a silk/satin scarf around your hair and tie it snuggly to prevent movement at night. In the morning remove the scarf and apply Step 3 with the same open-palm method as the night before, fluff, style, and you’re red-ta-go.
Sleep with Satin
This is crucial for so many things. The first being to prevent breakage. Satin is soft on your hair, and it won’t rip or tear your strands like cotton or polyester does. The second is moisture retention. When you wrap your hair, use a satin scarf, or sleep on a satin pillowcase. This keeps the moisture and natural oils where they should be, instead of being absorbed by the material.
On top of all of that, your hair will keep its definition longer when you take the proper precautions while you sleep. Boom! Your definition, moisture, and overall style is preserved longer, making your morning easy and quick.
With these tips, you can get out the door in the morning with time to grab that Caramel Macchiato without sacrificing your style or swag. Your time is valuable and spending it doing the things you love is what it’s all about.
