MOVEMBER: BEARDS ARE BAE
Move over ladies! This blog is all about the fellas. Movember is a month dedicated to men’s health. Historically, men have been known to avoid the doctor, leading to later diagnoses and far worse outcomes. To bring awareness and community around this issue, men started growing their beards out during the month of November. And we are here for it...cause beard game matters...nah’mean?
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we get from you is that your men looooove using Naturalicious on their beards. I mean, it makes total sense. Who wouldn’t want a shiny, healthy, full beard? We see the fellas sneaking your Naturalicious products, but we let them get away with it, because they just look so damn good!
Got a bae who’s growing out his beard? Here’s how to make sure he keeps it thriving all winter long:
Trim Split Ends
Beard hair is very much like the head on your hair. Wanna grow your hair - trim the dead ends. Wanna grow your beard - trim the split ends.
Since the beard hair is one of the first things people see, it’s super important to focus on keeping it neat. Pay special attention to consistency by using scissors to regularly shape and trim.
Train Hair With Brush
If you let it go, his beard will be growing in every which way. But, that’s not the move.
Train your man’s beard to lay down in a consistent fashion by brushing the hairs downward every morning and night. Doing this ensures the beard looks clean and on point; it also makes it look fuller...and fuller is always a good thing.
Keep It Clean
It’s very important to take care of the skin under the beard like you would if there was no hair there. That means keeping that area clean. Keep in mind that many facial cleansers may dry the hair out.
Our Step-1 Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment is the perfect solution for cleansing both the beard and the skin without drying them out. Take a scoop and massage it into the beard, focusing on the roots and spreading down to the ends.
By the way, don’t pick at ingrown hairs. Contrary to popular belief it is recommended to consult with a dermatologist to address them.
Moisturize
Have him moisturize the beard as soon as he steps out of the shower while it’s wet, using our Step-2 Styling Creme. He should smooth a small amount onto his beard moving downward, making sure to coat every strand.
Lock in shine and moisture after applying Step-2 by applying 2-3 drops of the Step-3 Divine Shine Moisture Lock & Frizz Fighter.
