I’m Doing Everything Right. So Why is My Hair So Dry??

dry hair

For many naturals with curly, coily and kinky hair, this is an ongoing question that nearly equates to an unintentional and frustrating mantra.

You’re a member of all of the hair message boards, you subscribe to the right YouTube gurus, you can write a peer reviewed journal article on the LOC and LCO methods and you once rejoiced thinking you were a reformed product junkie.

Not long ago, you were excited about your hair, you were living your dreams in a movie entitled, Life in the Fab Hair Lane, a 5-star blockbuster, where you felt in control, but lately all you know is that your hair has been looking busted. You feel as though you’re doing everything right, but still your hair won’t get it together.

You want answers and you want them now.

While it might seem obvious, the number one reason your hair is dry is because it lacks adequate moisture.

So, the best—and quickest--way to remedy this parched situation is to use a natural-based product with water as the number one ingredient. Water is the most moisturizing thing you can put on your hair. Combine it with other excellent ingredients and you’ve got a recipe for a traffic-stopping head of hair.

Just so you know, NATURALICIOUS has been anti-dry hair since 2013, its incarnation.

And, Rhassoul Clay has been anti-dry hair since the dawn of time. That’s very important information, since it’s the base of Step 1: Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment. With that info, we kind of like to think NATURALICIOUS has been in the making for eons.

After using Step 1, which cleanses, conditions, detangles and moisturizes your hair, Step 2: Moisture Infusion Styling Crème is next on deck. Its name explains exactly what it does: it infuses deep moisture into your hair proactively, preventing dryness, breakage, split ends and brittleness.

Now that you’ve found the right products, that’s just half of the battle. Next, you must consider the frequency and consistency of moisturizing your tresses.

Frequency and consistency is equally important to the amount of moisture you apply to your hair. It’s more about how often you moisturize, rather than how much. Think about it like this: If you were to workout for five hours on only one day, you wouldn’t benefit nearly as much as if you worked out for one hour every day for five days straight. It’s the same amount of time, but the fact that you’re working out more frequently will help you reach your goals that much faster.

The same idea goes for your hair routine too. You must be deliberate in how often you moisturize your hair. Don’t be afraid to moisturize three to four times a week, or even as often as every day. Contrary to some ill-advice, you cannot over moisturize. (That is, provided you’re using products with excellent ingredients, and we’ve already covered what to look for, so you’re good to go in that department.)

NATURALICIOUS has developed a four-step-system based on the scientifically-proven LCO (Liquid, Cream, then Oil) method. By developing the right frequency and consistency with this method, you’ll finally put an end to your dry hair woes.

Can I use your 4 step product system on chemically treated hair? My hair is thick, dry & coarse and I have what they call a tex-lax that loosened the coils (texturized). Thanks
